Position Summary:
This role supports all aspects of the employee lifecycle and plays a critical part in maintaining a positive workplace culture. From recruitment to payroll, the HR Generalist will work closely with leadership, supervisors, and staff to ensure HR services are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and in alignment with our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support all core HR functions, including applicant tracking, recruitment, onboarding, orientation, offboarding, HRIS maintenance, employee file management, payroll, and policy administration.
- Process payroll biweekly using our payroll/HRIS platform Datis e3 (ContinuumCloud), ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with recruitment activities, including attending job fairs and outreach events, posting job openings, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Oversee volunteer onboarding.
- Serve as a resource for employees and supervisors on HR policies, benefits, leave of absence, and employee relations matters.
- Assist in coordination and processing of employee insurance enrollments, terminations, and coding and processing of employee benefit invoices.
- Assist in tracking and managing employee leaves (FMLA, short-term disability, unpaid leave), coordinating required documentation and return-to-work plans.
- Assist in the tracking and managing of Worker's Compensation claims.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Support and track performance evaluations and employee development processes.
- Collaborate on HR communications, engagement initiatives, and training opportunities.
- Participate in audits, tracking and recording employee qualifications and licenses/certifications, internal reviews, and ongoing HR process improvement projects.
- Respond to requests for wage verifications

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of HR generalist experience; nonprofit or human services sector experience is a plus.
- Experience with payroll processing
- Strong understanding of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HRIS platforms a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay Range: $38,480.00 - $50,960.00 per year - commensurate with experience
